NEW TECHNOLOGY IN SERVOHYDRAULIC PRESSES & DIFFERENT FRAME TYPES

Leading the industry in Servo Hydraulic press machine technology with I-PRESS® & Automation controls.  We have been involved with hydraulic press design, build and installs for the last 30 years. In the early years traditional hydraulic system incorporating fixed speed motors, high pressure pumps were the norm which most builders are still providing.

The next level for Sutherland and our customers is Servo Hydraulic and the advantages it brings. Our I-PRESS® & Automation control system has changed the way user’s interface with the press, offer completely programmable motion, pressure and speed profiles throughout the stroke. Imagine being able to reduce secondary operations, reduce energy consumption and reduce press maintenance just to name a few key advantages.

The two small presses above show different press frame types available, true straight side type (blue & white) and four post style when access from all four sides is required. Customization to stroke length, daylight, table size, side openings and speeds can be built to meet the end user’s requirements.

1400 TON CAPACITY SERVO HYDRAULIC TANDEM LINE FOR MAJOR HOME APPLIANCE MANUFACTURER

Our team designs the complete solution which is then presented in 3D for end users to confirm all specification and features of the presses before we start production. All machines exceed the JIS 1st class standard with low deflection rates and minimal clearances.

As shown in the 5 press tandem line, slide guidance if full length 8 point taper wedge with high compression bronze liners, assuring outstanding die life.

The line shown will be fully automated with coil feed line, crown mounted inverted robots and a complete down-stream assembly line all the way to packaging.

Special attention was given to our common upper crown platform. As you can see in the photo, MEP / Main Electrical Panels with viewing windows at left and main Fluid Management, tanks, heat exchanger, manifolds and servo motors at the right.

We use only the best components from Rockwell AB and Eaton dual safety valves. All if this is controlled by our I-PRESS Servo Hydro press and automation controller.

Our HD Series Servo Hydraulic presses offer some unique advantages to forging companies. Programmable job profiles allow position, speeds and pressures to change up to 7 times throughout the stroke.

The I-PRESS® SERVO HYDRO press and automation control manages our fluid management system from servo motor, high pressure pump, manifold mounted dual safety valves.

Press frames are heat-treated after welding. Slide is guided by eight (8) point taper wedge slide guides with high compression bronze liners. Upper and lower hydraulic ejectors can be individually controlled via the I-PRESS® control.
